Proposition 1B refers to the Goods Movement Emission Reduction Funding Program. Prop 1B funding originated from the transportation bond approved in 2006 that included one billion dollars to fund projects that reduce air pollution associated with freight movement along California’s trade corridors ( see map). It is administered through the local air districts by the ARB.
Up to $60,000 of funding is available through the Prop 1B program. Applicants may apply for direct purchase, as well as lease-to-own programs. The program provides financial incentives to truck owners and operators as a strategy to reduce diesel-related emission from freight movement activities.
California’s Prop 1B funding program has financed the purchase of hundreds of new and used compliant trucks.
